Dear Guernsey Wooden Spoon Supporter
We are very excited to tell you about our latest project.
Guernsey Beach Wheelchair scheme is a collaborative charity project that will provide specially designed manual, ballooned wheelchairs for use on the beach and other rough terrain.
The project is being promoted by The Guernsey Wooden Spoon and St John Ambulance Guernsey.
The Chairs will be at Pembroke beach, stored in a locked unit, the length & incline of the slipway and the conditions on the sand make it an ideal location.
Beach Wheelchair scheme is for any person who finds that, for whatever reason, they have difficulty to walk on the beach. All of the beach wheelchairs have been specially designed to enable individuals with disabilities to get on the beach. The chairs have large, rubber wheels which move easily over the sand. They will be free of charge but donations are always welcomed.
This is where you come in. Can you help with spread the word and join us in the fundraising campaign. The initial campaign will be to raise 16k, this will cover the set up costs, including the Beach Wheelchairs, the shed, the website, any planning & permissions fees, etc.
Any donation small or large will be gratefully received.
We will also be looking for volunteers to help run the scheme if this is of interest please get in touch.
